Owen Fernley is a software engineer and creative coder. He builds interactive and immersive experiences to communicate concepts, data and ideas. His background is in research geophysics and experimental music, where he has built compute engines to calculate electromagnetic fields, while at the same time explored how web technology creates electroacoustic performances such as the Decomposing Pianos trilogy and 88 Years. His experience is of two worlds - now merged to inform one another. Owen is a consultant with Pixels and Plans, where he solves multi-disciplinary challenges within the knowledge mobilization industry. His projects feature large datasets, physics simulations and modelling, vector graphics, 3D immersive worlds, music visualizers, projection mapping, and time-based art.
What should we build next?
